the books

hwæt
The list of books I've read since I started this blog is kind of long, so I thought I'd put this list together. This a list of everything that I've read since I started this blog in late 2009 in chronological order, with the newest at the top. After a few years of having this page, I find that I use it quite a bit myself to navigate the site or figure out if I've read something in the past.

Most of the books I've read since I started this blog are reviewed here (a few aren't) and some have more than one review. When multiple reviews are included, they are each linked by clicking on the review number: i, ii, etc.

2023 -As I write this retrospective blurb on 2023, its late in 2024, so I don't remember a lot about what made 2023 different. Its was my 35th wedding anniversary this year, and we spent a week on the beach in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, at around that time, which was fun. I recorded 22 books here that year, but I also left a note a few weeks after our vacation which was a list of books that I hadn't recorded here, but that list only had one book: The Last Chairlift, which may end up being John Irving's last big book. I think there were others, but I couldn't remember them then, and I certainly don't now.

2022 -As 2022 begins, COVID 19 is still with us. In March it will be 2 years since lock-downs, a scramble for vaccine development and then the politicization of whether vaccines are safe, creates a new breed of anti-vaxxer and the pandemic puts down roots. EDIT: Its now November 2024, and I'm just updating the list of things I read in 2022, and adding the links.

A note about the lists of books along the right-hand column (favorites, great, etc.): The books listed there are to give you some idea of the kinds of things I like, and the kinds of things I don't, but the titles are not limited to the books listed above. Many of the titles I read before I started this blog.

The blog archive, also located in the right-hand column, is a list of all the posts, chronologically. If you're looking for specific information on a subject, try using the tags in the tag cloud in the  right-hand column. Update: I've gone back and added book categories to all of my book reviews: fiction, non-fiction, etc. so you can sort them that way from the cloud on the right titled 'what i'm talking about'.

Do I have a search bar? Er...no. should i?
